Angkor Resources Discovers Copper Mineralization Hosted in Sedimentary Rocks at Andong Bor

Angkor Resources Corp. has completed detailed analysis of drill core from its Andong Bor license in Oddar Meanchey, Cambodia, revealing critical geological relationships that significantly impact the company's understanding of copper mineralization in the region. The analysis of two new drill holes completed in 2025 shows substantial mineralization with abundant pyrite and chalcopyrite observed in sections from 245 metres to 316 metres depth. According to Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration for Angkor, the structural relationship between intrusive rock and host sedimentary rock was not revealed in previous drilling conducted by different companies.

The company's previous analysis in late 2022 was based on core drilled by other operators, as documented in their press release available at https://angkorresources.com/angkor-confirms-108-metres-of-0-53-copper-equivalent-at-andong-bor-cambodia/. The current analysis indicates that all contacts in previous drilling were either faulted or had poor core recovery, obscuring the true geological relationships. The most significant finding reveals that the best copper mineralization in Andong Bor diamond drill core is hosted by sedimentary rocks rather than intrusive formations.

Ouellette explained that while diorite feldspar porphyry intrusive rocks can host low-grade copper porphyry-style mineralization, assay values increase dramatically in proximity to highly reactive wallrock where intrusive rock is surrounded by sedimentary rock. Further geological analysis shows that contacts between sedimentary and intrusive rock occur at very steep angles ranging from 70 to 80 degrees. Mineralization within the sediments appears both disseminated and along fractures parallel to these contacts, indicating significant ground preparation prior to mineralization events.

The sedimentary country rock was heavily fractured, allowing intrusion and mineralization events to follow pre-existing fracture patterns. These findings have substantial implications for the company's exploration strategy. Understanding these geological relationships directly impacts the design of future drill programs, with expectations of achieving both shallower and increased mineralized intercepts. The company is currently completing detailed logging and cutting of the 2025 drill core for sampling, with assays to be forwarded to ALS laboratories when cutting is completed.

Plans for continuation of drilling at Andong Bor extend into 2026, with the new geological understanding expected to optimize targeting and potentially improve economic viability of the project. The discovery that mineralization follows pre-existing fractures in sedimentary rocks represents a fundamental shift in the geological model for copper mineralization in the region.
